The audio social media platform Clubhouse recently added 13 new languages to the app at a press conference held in India, making it more acceptable to those who want to see the platform available in their native language. The update of the app provides localization services for millions of people who do not speak English or who just like the local language.

The 13 languages are French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Kannada, Korean, Malayalam, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish, Tamil and Telugu . This is an interesting lineup. It is worth noting that out of the 10 most spoken languages in the world, 4 are not present (Chinese, Arabic, Bengali and Russian).

These languages will first be available in the Android version of Clubhouse, which makes sense. According to data from Statcounter, more than 96% of Indian mobile users use the Android system, while the iOS system lags behind, with a market share of about 3%. For an application that took a long time to launch an Android version, its Android-first approach to this update is encouraging.

Clubhouse also announced a new app icon featuring musician, singer and composer Anirudh Deshmukh (pictured above). Anirud, based in Mumbai, joined Clubhouse at the beginning of this year. In the spring, he launched Anirud, a club with 72,000 members, where he hosted his late night show, Late Night Jam.
